Discover the basic settings of the Emec KMS MF

Dosing pumps from the KMS MF series is the ideal solution for low or medium dosing of chemicals. All parameters for operation, dosing pump settings and set-up are available via a digital keypad and displayed on a backlit LCD screen. The Emec KMS MF metering pump features the following inputs and outputs: 

• Standby input
• LEVEL input
• Alarm output (contact)

Flow rate

The flow rate can be determined by the stroke length and the stroke speed. The adjustment knob allows you to set the stroke length between 0% and 100%, only the dosage can be guaranteed within a range of 30% to 100%.

This explanation addresses that of the Emec KMS MF, but can also be used for other electromagnetic models such as the AMS, TMS and VMS (excluding the PRIUS and PRISMA).

What do the buttons on the Emec KMS MF do?

Besides the descriptive picture, the buttons will also be explained, as will navigating through the menu.

• Button with an arrow pointing upwards is known as the 'Up' button.
• Button with an arrow pointing to the right is known as the 'To the right' button.
• Key with 'esc' on it is known as the 'escape' key.
• Button with the E, known as the 'E' key.

Navigating the menu

To navigate through the menu, and enter programme mode, press and hold the 'E' key. After 4 seconds, the password screen will appear on the pump.
The default password is '0000'. Press the 'E' key. Otherwise, enter the password using the up and right key.

Save/delete changes/activate working mode

When you want to save your data in the set-up menu, click the E key.
To override changes in the set-up menu, click the esc key.
When you want to activate the working mode, select the desired mode and confirm using the E key.

Switching the pump on and off

The ESC key has a dual function. It can be used for the following two options:

• Ignore all changes made in setup mode.
• Turning the pump on and off. To do this, press and hold the button when in the main screen. The pump will then display 'off'.

To return to operational mode, press the ESC key.

Operation of the alarm output

The pump has an 'alarm' output that changes its status (from N.O. to N.C. or vice versa) when a signal is received from 'LEVEL'/'SEFL'/'STAND-BY'

Full menu mode

When you go to SETUP, the access mode menu is displayed.
The moment you enter the SETUP menu for the first time, the pump will automatically set itself to 'FULL MENU' mode. Press the E key to confirm this. In this mode, all functions and operating modes of the pump are displayed.
The next time you go to the SETUP menu, you can work with a 'SHORT MENU' to change only selected mode parameters. Press E to confirm this.

Remark: The 'SHORT MENU' option is not available when you first enter the SETUP menu, or after a reset.
